let’s be sloths today and do nothing

Good morning, world. Happy Sunday. Shawshank kept me up extra late, thinking it would help me sleep through the night. Despite the fact I was falling asleep on the couch, he knows that regardless of my protests, I’ll easily scroll through TikTok for hours if the suggestion is made.

We had a good Saturday. Shawshank spent a day playing solitaire at work. I spent the morning schmoozing. My run in with Twitter’s offensive content-banning algorithm seems to be coming to an end, and I might be out of Twitter jail. I deleted a couple of pictures, I’ve posted a lot of mundane shit, and my interactions are mostly back up to normal.

I ate a handful of dry Cheerios for lunch and tried to enjoy some flowarts. I pushed furniture around and played with both the leviwand and the poi. I’ve been spoiled watching myself on camera while streaming this last week, and found it difficult to not have that reference yesterday.

Once Shawshank came home, we headed out to Slightly BiggerTown to do some shopping. The dispo wasn’t running any good deals, so we only picked up our usual carts. I’m hoping to score some cheap stuff to make some cannabutter with, but it’s not a priority. I really want to try my hand at making some edibles.

After the dispo, we headed out to the grocery store. Shawshank wanted to make me something special for dinner, and I wanted sweet potatoes.

We discussed what form they would take, because I couldn’t decide between diced/roasted bowls or fries. I wanted a bowl – diced, roasted with some chili powder and mixed with chorizo, barbecue sauce, and cheese. I haven’t had one since I left the northeast, and I lived on them for a fucking year.

Alas, the sweet potatoes up here are some sort of massive, free range prairie potato, and a single one would be at least three bowls that don’t reheat very well. Since Shawshank doesn’t like them at all, I opted for the fries instead, as they would be less wasteful. He ended up making us some burgers, and I made a rare request to add some bacon to them. We also picked up some giant cinnamon buns for a late night dessert when the munchies hit.

As usual, we don’t have much in the way of plans for the remainder of the weekend. We’ll be heading out to Shady Acres later this afternoon for Sunday dinner. Shawshank put a load of laundry in the washer, and loaded up Breath of The Wild. In a little while, maybe I’ll put some clothes on and be a good little human.
