Good morning, world. Happy fucking Monday. I see sunshine out there, but from the way the forecast looks, it might not be there for long. That’s ok. I’ve come to the conclusion I can use the watercolors indoors. I don’t like it, but I can do it when I need to. And right now, that’s what the case is.
We went to the Compound for dinner yesterday. I left my purse at the house. Mom asked if I wanted it to carry my vape in case things got ridiculous. The joke was on her, I was already buzzed. The Compound is always ridiculous. We walked in to Brian’s dad watching Youtube gun porn on the tv. Their puppy is getting bigger, but is an absolutely mannerless little shit.
Otherwise, I kept to myself. People are used to that now. I think I managed to have about an hour of peace before their friend asked if I was planning on heading north anytime soon.
If anything makes me feel like I’m overstaying my welcome, it’s her weekly quiz on when I’m leaving.
I sat down last night and started working on a route again. Currently, it looks like five days on the road. The first couple of days are a little shorter driving than the second half of the drive, and the last day is sort of a crap shoot of anxiety. My biggest sticking point is in the Wisconsin/North Dakota/Minnesota section, and trying to find a hotel that will allow Chaucer.
However, the Canadians no longer require a negative Covid test to cross the border. This definitely cuts down on things. Google gave me three different route options, and I only messed with one of them last night. Tonight, I’ll play with the second one.
Oh Canada, do you have the anthem memorized? I’m jealous, but ridiculously excited for the two of you to be reunited
