The sun has disappeared, and it’s not so hot lately. It’s feeling a little like a New England spring again. The gray skies and lower temps make it difficult to pretend I’m only on vacation and don’t fucking live here. It gets too normal.

Two of the three cats are fucking with each other this morning. Chaucer is walking around, randomly yowling, slinking around and walking close to Knickknack, the cat equivalent of “I’m not touching you”. Knickknack is stomping around and growling, protesting the boys’ existence. Mal simply sits in one spot biting his toenails in the middle of the dining room, wondering why everyone is making noises for no good reason.

We went out yesterday afternoon. Brian cracked a joke about Mom not returning some sandals she bought him, and suddenly we’re busting his balls about how he needs to take us out to Bealls RIGHT NOW to return the sandals and buy new purses. I wanted a larger purse to hold all the devices I want to have handy during my flight. I found just what I needed. Mom found something she didn’t need, but loves. As I told Shawshank yesterday, her purse cost significantly more than my own. And my own cost more than I’ve ever spent on a bag, so that’s saying something.

As it stands right now, I’ll be checking one suitcase, carrying the bigger purse, and bringing a carry-on. The carry-on is mostly to bring a coat and the bare necessities without taking up so much space in the suitcase. I’m keeping my eye open for a larger wallet that can hold all my cards and my passport in one spot.

I believe the plan today is some grocery shopping. Mom likes to go when Brian isn’t with us, things seem to be a little quicker. Depending on the weather, I have an outdoor project to work on for Mom. I’ve been repainting her antique fire alarm box. She doesn’t know what she wants to actually do with it when it’s finished. I still need to put a second coat on it, but it looks a fair bit better than it did at the beginning of the week. If I can’t get outside, I really want to work on my own paintings a bit.

Ok. Time to push away from the morning TV and get dressed. Anyone have something good planned for the weekend? Or are y’all just as boring as me?

Hi Crystal! We’re planning on going for a hike on one of the trails in our area this weekend, weather is supposed to be really nice so we hope to take advantage of that. Being in the midwest the colors should be cranking this weekend. 🙂
